6 useful apps to have when adventuring

I thought it would be helpful to list the 6 useful apps to have when adventuring because we use them often and they do make life easier and more productive.

You can see where all the Service Stations are in Australia and the current cost of fuel at each. You can easily save a few dollars by checking this out before you fuel up.

A great resource to find the closest facilities like fresh water and portable toilet dumping stations. All your camping choices, whether its free camping or a caravan park, have listings with information like cost and photos to help you choose what suits you best. You simply search the location and up will pop all your options.

The Bom app will come in handy many times. What is the weather doing tomorrow? Where is that storm tracking? It's always useful to know if rain is predicted and how much to expect. It's also handy to know the temperature if you're travelling somewhere you haven't been before. We also refer to the BOM for tide times.

We mainly use this app for wind speed & direction. Very handy when planning a day in the boat or a beach day.

The Journi app is what I use to jot down all my holiday notes. You can write a different entry each day and add photos too. It's amazing what details you forget and I am often thankful I took the time to write things down at the end of the day, or sometimes the following day while we're travelling in the car! You can then upload these memories to your facebook or into a photobook when you have reception and more time.

I use the InShot app to create photo & video collages to upload to our socials and keep our memories pieced together. It has basic editing features which is good enough for our current needs.

And one you wouldn't go without, of course, Google Maps! Need I say more. These are our top 6 useful apps to have while adventuring, and adventure planning. I hope you find them useful too. What apps do you use? Do you find any better than the ones we use? If you'd like more helpful planning info, check out our blog Preparing and Packing for camping.
